SikaPlast®-100 AN

Usage

SikaPlast 100 AN is a True Neutral Set Water Reducer and at higher dosages a True Neutral Set Mid Range Water Reducer designed for use in the premixed concrete industry, SikaPlast®-100 AN is ideal for the following applications:

• As a True Neutral Set Water Reducing admixture used in combination with Accelerators, Retarders and Air Entrainers to produce a wide range of products and strengths, while maintaining the ability to accommodate fluctuations in temperature and set time requirements
• As a True Neutral Set Mid Range Water reducing admixture for concretes which require higher workability, optimal cost performance and a high degree of control. Due to the True Neutral Set characteristics the properties of the concrete can be adjusted to achieve desired properties using Accelerators and Retarders without compromising performance
• The above properties make this product ideal for industrial floor applications where good control of fresh and hardened concrete properties is essential.
• Post tensioned applications

Aqueous solution of modified polycarboxylate

Shelf life

Stored at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C in unopened original containers, protected from direct sunlight and frost, shelf life is at least one (1) year.

Application Information

 

Compatibility

SikaPlast®-100 AN can be used in conjunction with most of the Sika Concrete admixtures, with the exclusion of Sikament NN. All admixtures must be added separately.

SikaPlast®-100 AN when used with Air Entraining admixtures can result in significant increases in entrained air, therefore, trial mixes are recommended.

Dispensing

Add SikaPlast®-100 AN to the initial batching water. For best result, we recommend thorough mixing of wet concrete at 60 seconds per cubic metre of concrete.

Add the remaining gauging water progressively after at least 2/3 wet mixing time to achieve the desired consistency.

Consumption

 

Recommended Dosage

Typical dosage rate  is  500 – 1000 ml per 100 kg of total cementitious material .

Optimum dosage depends on the type of concrete, site conditions, mix proportions, ingredients and desired plastic and hardened concrete properties. Laboratory and/or field trials are essential in determining the optimum dosage.
